Chanel Haute Couture

Chanel's 2008 s/s Haute Couture offerings were very reminiscent of a charmed childhood, Swan Lake performances, ballerinas, antique tiaras, chiffon, nubby tweeds, patent leather and sheer stockings.

Europe

At this time last year, we were in Germany, Switzerland, Mallorca Spain, and Denmark... at least the winter weather here has been mild and European-feeling lately.. if that's any consolation!

Club Monaco

Club Monaco's Spring 2008 preview is now online. Last time I was in the store, I remember really loving that Balenciaga-inspired blazer, the high-waisted trousers, and an amazing navy nylon parka. Now the two outfits pictured above have inspired some brand new Club Monaco lusting (especially the first outfit!).

Shoe Personality

On some conversational tangent, I recently asked R. what kind of shoe I would be if I were one. His reflective response was a Louboutin bootie. His answer might have been particularly inspired by having to watch me play dress-up wearing my friend's ruched Louboutin booties around her house whenever I could sneak a chance this past weekend (although I would prefer to be thought of as the "lastic" model booties). And in return, I'd make R. be the perfect match, Jil Sander men's elastic boots - sleek , classic and handsome!

New Year's Resolution

Bank in the Form of a Pig by Harry Allen

Amongst a muddied head of self-improvement vows for the new year, I think that saving money rises to the top of the pile. As of yet, I'm not quite sure how I could magically spend less money than I already do, being that we've committed to a decidedly near-ascetic student lifestyle, but I have promised myself to be a committed penny-pincher this year, motivated by the onslaught of big post-Christmas and car insurance bills due this January and five upcoming summer weddings. Being that I have the mathematical know-how of a third grade student, I'm not so sure how to creatively recalculate and budget for the new year.. but I do know that this blog will serve as a primary venting source for those materialistic yearnings that will come to fruition all too often throughout the year. Expect some seriously cathartic blogging to ensue!

Langdon Hall

We spent the afternoon with friends at Langdon Hall, the immaculate Relais & Château hotel in Cambridge, Ontario. Although we left before the Moët got flowing, it was a lovely way to end 2007. Happy new year!
